Event - I love September 1 inaugural ceremonies. Everyone looks pretty... and bored. Except maybe when they notice me taking pictures of them. BTW, this wasn't actually Sept 1 but Aug 30 - I almost missed the whole thing inspite of having promised to take pictures of some of my friends there. And no, I don't know all the girls in these pictures. Well maybe only about half of them.
Photography - This is what I miss with my new DRebel - the 12x image-stabilised optical zoom of my previous FZ2. Yeah sure, I should get an equivalent 35mm-420mm F2.8 IS lens for my Canon. Yeah right. And zillions of megabucks later, let's say I have it and point this megalens towards the people below... "BANG!" makes my Canon in the silence of the ceremony and 200 people look up in my direction. Bye-bye candid shots. I think I better get the FZ3 for next year's inaugurals instead:)
