Event - "Noorteband 2005" band competition qualifier in Tartu, in club "Illusion". It is my policy to confine my photography to people who are either the official performers or are otherwise "unofficially" performing (jumping around, dancing, kissing etc). And it is my policy NOT to take pictures of ordinary people just sitting back and relaxing. I'm assuming they'd rather be left alone (I know I would). Well what do you do when MOST people are sitting back and relaxing and only a few are jumping around? I must tell you, I was really tempted, REALLY tempted to break my policy. There were some wonderful characters amongst the audience that I would have loved to take a few pictures of, but they just sat there all night. Luckily the amount of jumpers increased during the course of the night, so I didn't have to go bother the people relaxing in the back but my policy definetly missed me some opportunities and I'm not so sure I could hold true to it the next time around.

Photography - They say the EOS 300D lacks wide-aperture high-precision auto-focus. I hate to admit it, but they may be right. Focus is REALLY hard to nail at wider apertures. It is definetly a hit-and-miss at f/1.8. And I would say more "miss" than "hit". I hope a flash that can fire an autofocus beam without firing the flash can help in this regard in the future.
