Event - The first ever group gymnastics World Cup competition took place in Tartu under the name "Miss Valentine". Just when I thought I'd take a break from photography for a while, this was just too good to pass up. Guest starring olympic silver medalist Irina Tšaštšina from Russia.
Photography - And starring in the lens department, the cheapest of Canon lenses, the 50mm f/1.8 prime. Superb sharpness at f/2.8, amazing low-light performance at f/1.8, the only drawback - the 50mm fixed focal length. Which meant no zooming in and no zooming out and since sitting on the sidelines also meant no zooming with my legs, the end result is terrible framing. Cut off heads, hands, legs and various other body parts are all over the place. A little more zoom would have helped, some more wideangle options would have been desireable as well and good low-light performance was crucial - the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens would have been perfect for this.
