Event - "Sounds of Hip Hop" with scratching champion DJ Rafik from Germany at Clubtallinn. Less people than I expected, but those who were there, partied without compromise. I couldn't decide whether to go or not until the very last minute, since I had been feeling sick with sneezing and cold shivers all day and I was afraid a night out would only worsen it. I'm glad I went though, since miraculously and completely contrary to what I expected - the party healed me!
Photography - Probably one of my last galleries with the Canon EOS Digital Rebel 300D camera. I always wanted more speed, but now that the 350D is right around the corner, it feels kind'a sad to part ways with the 300D. It has served me well. Also experimented with my new Sto-Fen Omnibounce with mixed results. Frankly I don't think it that good in a nightclub setting, since it lights up the floors, walls and ceilings and drowns out the ambient lights which I always want to catch. Shooting with straight-on direct flash only lights up and freezes a subject in front of the camera and leaves everything else in dakrness, letting the slow shutter work its magic and paint ambient lights into the background. There will certainly be specific situations (flash portraits etc), where the Omnibounce will be needed, but for most of the time I think I'll leave it in the bag.
