Event - Beach aerobics, a free aerobics event of Student Spring Days 2005. It was chilly, but probably not so much for the participants than for the bystanders.

Photography - It was Sigma 55-200 almost all the way (pics are straight from the camera). The lens coulnd't have arrived at a better time. I feel like I have a dream setup now. The 350D is plenty fast for action shoots and it's ISO 1600 is just amazing. The 18-55 kit lens has the wide angle covered, it is fast- and accurate-focusing in use, it is compact, which is excellent for in the field use, and it is light-weight, which is excellent for extended shoots (nightclubs and the likes). The Sigma 55-200 has the zoom covered, is sharp, compact and light-weight, which once again is excellent for my purposes. The Tamron 28-75 F2.8 is a good low-light action zoom and the Canon 50 F1.8 is an amazing ultra-low-light action and candid potrait prime. The Canon 420Ex flash rotates and tilts, covers all focus points, FEC can be adjusted via 350D and is smaller than other Canon flashes. My two Lexar 512MB 80x WA Pro CompactFlash memory cards are also a perfect companion to the 350D and the Archos Gmini 120 USB 2.0 portable 20GB hard drive, both in terms of speed and availability of storage.

All that remains, is just a few minor tweaks here and there in the accessories department. Unfortunately my portable Archos Gmini 120 has been failing lately, so if a battery swap won't cure it, I need to find a replacement. I also need to acquire some sort of dust removal and lens cleaning system - I can already see quite a bit of dust on the mirror of the 350D and some dust particles even inside the lenses (yes, INSIDE, don't you just hate that:). Probably some microfibre cloth for lenses and a blower for the camera are in order and also a separate bag for carrying the lenses around. Once these issues get resolved, I think more attention should go to varying my photography instead of varying my photo equipment:)
