This building has a glass wall in front of it with the German constitution glowing inside it during the night. Huge government and parliament quartiers in the center of the city. As in many parts of Berlin, this area was bombed to the ground during the war, was left derelict during the cold war and has been built up only recent. Part of the newly built government and parliament office complex near the Reichstag. Because of WW II, where according to different estimates 40-90% of the city was destroyed and the ensuing cold war, during which at least in East Berlin not much was done in terms of reconstruction work, Berlin is now in a unique situation, where it is the capital of the economically most powerful country in Europe, yet has lots of underdeveloped real estate space. As a result of this, Berlin is the mecca of modern architecture. Pictured is another newly built government building. Event - I was sent to Berlin to take pictures of Love Parade but decided to stay a bit longer and endeb up staying for three weeks.

In this gallery you'll see: the ultra-modern buildings and skyscrapers of Potsdamer Platz, the exteriors and interiors of the grand palaces of Prussian royalties, the glass dome of the Reichstag, the preserved archictecture of old Berlin, and the graffity-ridden Zapata building and its midnight galleries.
